How to Book
One of Britain’s most beautiful canals
Please telephone 01949 850999 to discuss your requirements.
Choose your cruise
You may book cruises of 2, 3 or 4 hours duration.
You can start any time from 10am but the latest finishing time must always be at sunset.
Of course the length of time determines how far you can go. Speed on a canal is not very fast and a 2 hour cruise reaches Denton Wharf; a 3 hour cruise reaches the A1 near Grantham and a 4 hour cruise allows time at Harlaxton Wharf* to vist the Gregory** for a meal and a drink – or maybe a picnic on the wharf.
We suggest you discuss the options if you want a break en-route.
Cruise Prices – Price is for the boat, i.e. for up to 10 people.
|Cruise Time||3 hours||£120.00|
We request a deposit of £20 (not refunded unless we cancel the booking) to confirm your booking and the balance to be paid 7 days prior to the cruise date.
Our crew will serve you refreshments during your cruise – why not suppliment these with your own food hamper?
The boat is not licensed for the sale of alcohol so why not Bring Your Own?
We are happy for your party to bring drinks but if you wish to use our glasses, crockery, etc. we would appreciate a donation towards the society’s funds.
‘The Three Shires’ narrowboat was purposely built for giving cruises on the Grantham Canal. It offers comfortable seating, has a small kitchen, and yes, a loo!
Access from the landing stages into the boat is down steps – you will need to be able to cope with these.
Relax & Enjoy!
The Grantham Society is a purely volunteer organisation.
* Harlaxton Wharf is located on The Drift, between the villages of Harlaxton and Barrowby. NG32 1AE
** Normally the 4 hour cruises stop at the pontoon at the A1 Embankment, allowing passengers to visit the Farrier public house, which is a short walk. We hope to carry out dredging in this vacinity shortly, so that 4 hour trips can once again return to this venue. In the meantime, we offer the Gregory as an option, albeit a longer walk.
